Little Sprouts Discovery Center is a non profit group daycare center in Redgranite. We are looking for an assistant teacher to help out in all of our classrooms for 30-40 hours a week. Must be available to work anytime from 5:30 AM-5:30 PM Monday through Friday. We prefer that you have already completed your initial child care classes or are willing to complete them as soon as possible after hire. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Assistant Child Care Teacher

Job Description

This position assists the main teacher in developing and carrying out the creative curriculum approved by the director, may be responsible for certain supplies, activities, or equipment. Teachers in this position are to assist the main classroom teachers in maintain a happy and safe environment for the children.

Possible Responsibilities:

Assist teacher in carrying out daily developmental programs for children of a variety of age and ability levels.
Provide care and protection for the children.
Give input toward curriculum development.
Participate with children in daily activities to enforce safety rules, encourage development of positive social relationships and behaviors.
Work as a team member to help develop each child's potential; report to the teacher any special problems a child may have in adjustment, learning, social interaction or motor function.
Greet parents in positive attitude daily.
See that the classroom is neat, clean and friendly.
Respect the dignity and basic right of each child.
Assist children in eating, dressing and other activities to foster appropriate habits.
Make daily observations on health of each child.
Arrange classroom and prepare supplies for activities, may have responsibilities for certain learning centers.
Assist teacher to be sure equipment is accessible and in good condition.
Perform other duties assigned by the teacher.

Supervision:

The childcare teacher shall receive supervision from the childcare teacher and director. Please refer to the delegation of authority chart.

Job Qualifications:

Be at least 18 years old.
Have completed high school or its equivalency as determined by the department of public instruction.
Have successfully completed 9 credits of post-secondary education in the Early Childhood field.
Each year after assuming the position must maintain continuing education, as stated in licensing rules for group daycare centers.
Be CPR and First Aid certified or is willing to obtain within 6 months of assuming the position.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
