During the day, our staff will work with the children, helping them in many areas of development. The children have group time, art time, story time, nap time, free play time, and reading readiness activities. Children are given free play time at different times each day. This is a time where the children get to choose their own activities. Areas in which they get to choose from are block area, housekeeping, sensory table, puzzles, reading area, and coloring/drawing area. Only 2-3 children are allowed to be in each area at one time. By doing this, it helps children make decisions and it helps with keeping the clean-up to a minimum.

Nap time is a time for children to take a break from the busy day. After lunch, the children will take a bathroom break then go lie down on their sleeping bags. Most children will nap, though they are not required to sleep. They are required to rest for 30 minutes. At that time, if they are not sleeping and would like to get up they can and they are given quiet activities to do while the others are still sleeping.

The children also go outside daily as long as weather permits.  If the weather is not cooperating, the children get a chance to go into the Activity Room which is a large motor room so the children are able to run around and still get that much needed large motor time.
