Teachers:

Ages: Approximately 1 year old to 2 years old

Ratio: 1 teacher to 4 kids, Max of 8 children

The staff works with the children, helping them to develop motor skills and some social skills. The toddlers are engaged in a wide variety of activities each and every day. The toddlers get nap time each day after lunch. Each child will sleep in their own sleeping bag for nap time. Outside play is also enjoyed by the toddlers. Staff try to get them out every day, weather permitting. The toddlers may go on a walk. The center has a Bye-Bye Buggy, which holds 6 toddlers, a 4-seat stroller and the center also has a wagon that holds 2 toddlers. There is also a playground for the toddlers to play in. It is separate from the big kid playground and has smaller equipment that is just the right size for the toddlers. Each child has a daily sheet for the parents to take home each day. On this sheet, the child's daily activities have been recorded. This may include diapering, meals, naps, and any special activities that the child did. Diapering is done approximately every 2 hours in the toddler room. The meals severed in the toddler room are breakfast (around 8:30 a.m.), lunch (11:30 a.m.) and afternoon snack (2:30 pm or when children wake from nap).
