Teachers: Ms. Amy 

Ages: Approximately 2 years to 3 and a half years old

Ratio: 1 teacher to 7 kids, 12-16 kids max

Potty training is encouraged in this room. Teachers assist the children with toileting and diapering to help families with this process. Parents are encouraged to discuss the process they are using at home with the teacher. In this room the children really work on getting into a set routine so they are ready for the Preschool room and ultimately school. The children have group time, story time and art each day. Ms. Amy takes the children outside everyday (weather permitting). They go on walks or they get to play in the playground. This is the time that the children get a lot of fresh air and get to work off any excess energy they may have. After lunch each day, the children are sent for a bathroom break and then they have nap time. Each child has its own sleeping bag (provided by the parents). The children are encouraged to sleep though they are not required to sleep. After 30 minutes of rest the children who are awake can get up and will be given the opportunity to do quiet activities until everyone else is awake.
